Configuring a Catalog

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Administrators manage the hierarchy of categories associated with the Catalog from this section.

Category Management

Administrators associate/unassociate categories within other categories or directly within the Catalog from this section. Administrators can manage the sequence of the categories and the subcategories using the right-click function or by drag and dropping the folder.

Right click operations - The administrator can perform the following actions by right-clicking on any category folder to access the options listed below.

  1. Edit - When an administrator selects “Edit”, a modal window appears where the category can be set as active or inactive. An Administrator can also enter a date range that the category will be active during.

  2. Unassociate - When an administrator selects the “Unassociate” option, the category gets removed from the Catalog.

  3. Up - When an administrator selects the “Up” option, the category sequence changes. (e.g. There are 3 categories in the following hierarchy A,B,C. When the administrator moves B “up”, then the sequence becomes B, A, C).

  4. Down - When an administrator selects the “Down” option, the category sequence changes. (e.g. There are 3 categories in the following hierarchy A,B,C. When the administrator moves B “down”, the sequence becomes A,C, B).

  5. Publish - When an administrator selects the “Publish” option, the specific category gets published. Note that only the category settings will get published and not the products associated with the categories.

Drag and Drop operations are used to:

  1. Move a parent category under any category (or subcategory)

  2. Move any category (or subcategory) under any other category (or subcategory)

Product Management

Products associated with any category can be seen by selecting the respective category folder but can not be edited from the Edit Catalog screen. Administrators can edit the product category association from the “Edit Category” section in the PIM.

Note - By default, the product list only shows the active products. If administrators want to see active and inactive products, they can uncheck the "Show Active Products" option.
