SKU Validations

In Znode, the Product SKU field does not support special characters. To handle SKUs containing special characters, admins can use the Product Code attribute instead.

  • Steps to Manage SKUs with Special Characters:
    • When adding or editing a product, enter only an alphanumeric value in the Product SKU field by removing any special characters.
    • Add the original SKU (including special characters) in the Product Code field.

      Save the product.

    • Also, while importing the products, enter only an alphanumeric value in the Product SKU column, and add the original SKU (including special characters) in the Product Code field.

  • Search Configurations For Product Code:
    • Search Support: Even if customers search using the original SKU (with special characters) on the webstore, the correct product will appear in the search results.
    • Search Profile Configuration:
      • The Product Code attribute is included in the default data for search profiles.
      • Navigate to Marketing > Site Search > Search Profiles > Add New > Searchable Fields and configure the boost score to increase product visibility when searching by product code.
    • Ngram Settings: The Product Code field is also part of the Ngram settings, where admins can configure Ngram for product codes.
      • Navigate to Marketing > Site Search > Manage PIM Indexes > PIM Index Settings.
      • Add the Ngram score.
      • Save the progress by clicking on the "Save" button.
    • Character Filter Support: Most special characters are included in the default character filter settings, which enhance search terms to deliver accurate results.
    • This ensures that if customers search for SKUs with special characters on the webstore, the correct product still appears in the search results.
