TABLE OF CONTENTS
Navigate to: Media Library > Media Explorer
The Media Explorer is the central hub in Znode for managing all of the media assets. From this section, administrators can easily organize and structure how media files are stored using the Media Explorer Folder Hierarchy.
Administrators can reference uploaded media assets anytime Znode asks for an image, file, sound, or video. The media assets can be globally referenced or reused throughout individual stores. Administrators can upload the media present on their local drives and use it in the webstore
There is a Root folder that includes all the different folders for respective stores; within these stores, there are sub-folders separately representing a different kind of media separately like Image, File, Audio, Video. All of this can be visible through the following image where this hierarchy is exhibited.
Media Explorer Folder Hierarchy
The Media Explorer Folder Hierarchy is the organizational structure within the Digital Asset Manager (DAM). The hierarchy search allows Administrators to search among the folder structure for a match. Similarly, Administrators can use the media search to locate a media asset.
Media Explorer Tools
In the Media Explorer section, the Tools button gives Administrators some additional functionality to help manage media assets.
Tool | Description |
Move Media | Change the file location of an active element(s) |
Download | Downloads active element(s) to local storage |
Adding a Media
Navigate to: Media Library > Media Explorer > “Add New” button
Administrators can add files of different types. There is no limit to file type or individual file size that can be uploaded. Just as an FYI, these can be restricted by Editing the Image, Video, File, or Audio Media Attributes.
Click a destination folder from the Media Explorer Folder Hierarchy.
Click the "Browse" button to reveal local storage. Then, navigate to the Media Asset(s) which is to be uploaded.
Once Media Asset(s) are selected, press "Open"
A progress notification will confirm when the upload has occurred. Upload is complete when "Status" shows "Done".
New Media is now saved to Media Explorer.
Editing a Media
Navigate to: Media Library > Media Explorer > “Edit” button
Administrators can manage the details saved against the media file from here and can also replace the media file with another file of the same type.
When a media file is replaced with another file and changes are saved, then the old media file is replaced with the new media file in all the locations on the web store.
If the media file is an image file, then upon successful replacement, the media file will be generated in the saved global image sizes automatically. Administrators also have the provision to manually generate the image files in case of any failures in the image generation process.
