Important Note on Inventory Display Behavior (Storefront)
  • Inventory is updated in real time on the Product Display Page (PDP) when a product is purchased or when any inventory change occurs.
  • This is especially applicable when the product is configured with inventory rules such as:
    • Disable Purchase for Out-of-Stock Products, or
    • Allow Back-Ordering of Products
  • In these scenarios, once a purchase impacts inventory (for example, reducing stock to zero or below threshold), the PDP immediately reflects the updated product availability status, such as out-of-stock or back-order messaging.
  • However, the Product Listing Page (PLP) may not immediately reflect the updated inventory due to caching behavior to improve performance and load times.
Additional Info:

If the PLP is accessed in:

  • A different browser
  • An incognito/private browsing session

The updated inventory will be displayed correctly on the PLP as well.
