Configuring a User Profile

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Navigate to: Customers > User Profiles > “Manage” Action

The "Manage" action reveals three tabs, "Profile Catalog", "Shipping Methods", and "Payment Methods". Using the "Manage" action, Administrators can associate one catalog, shipping methods, and payment methods for users that are associated with the user profile.

Associate Catalog to User Profile

  • Associate a new Catalog using the "Associate" button from the "Profile Catalog" tab.
  • Select Catalog to associate, then "Save"
  • The page reloads with action confirmation.
  • Association is now complete.
  • If the Administrator wants to create a separate catalog for a specific User profile following steps can be followed.
    • Treat the catalog that is created for that specific user profile as the original catalog and use it for this profile.
    • Create a copy of that catalog, remove the additional products and categories from that catalog and then associate it with the other profiles/stores.

Note: Only one catalog can be associated with the User Profile.

Associate Shipping Methods to User Profile

  • Add Shipping Methods using the "Associate Shipping" button from the "Shipping Methods" tab.

  • Select Shipping to associate, then "Save"

  • The page reloads with action confirmation.

  • Association is now complete.

  • For shipping configurations to work correctly, all profile based shipping methods must be properly associated to the respective store so that they can be used during checkout or order processing. If these methods are not correctly associated, they may be ignored or not displayed as intended.

  • Additionally, in cases where there is no overlap between the shipping methods defined in the user profile and those configured for the store, priority will be given to the store-specific shipping methods, ensuring that the store’s configuration take precedence.

Associate Payment Methods to User Profile

  • Add Payment Methods using the "Associate Payment Method" from the "Payment Methods" tab

  • Select Payment Methods to associate, then "Save"

  • The page reloads with action confirmation.

  • Association is now complete.

  • The payment method which is associated with the user profile must be associated with the store. in cases where there is no overlap between the payment methods defined in the user profile and those configured for the store, priority will be given to the store-specific payment methods, ensuring that the store’s configuration take precedence.

Admin view of User Profile

When an Administrator logs in to the webstore, they can see all the default configurations set at the store level. So the configurations done at the profile level won't reflect on the webstore for the admin account.
