Overview
Typeahead Search enhances the Storefront search experience by displaying suggested results as a customer types in the search box. These suggestions help customers quickly find relevant products, reducing search effort and improving conversion rates.
In Znode Version 10, Typeahead Search behaviour remains consistent with earlier versions and is managed through Search Settings in the Admin Console.
Important: Typeahead Search is triggered only after a customer enters at least 3 characters in the search field.
Prerequisites
- Administrator access to the Znode Admin Console
- Storefront search is enabled for the store
- Products and categories published
- Search indexing completed
- Typeahead Search enabled in Search Settings

Enable Typeahead Search
Typeahead Search is configured per store from the Admin Console.
Steps
- Log in to the Znode Admin Console.
- Navigate to Admin Console > Stores.
- Select the required Store.
- Click Search Settings.
- Locate the Typeahead Search setting.
- Enable Typeahead Search.
- Save the changes.
Outcome: Typeahead Search is enabled for the selected Storefront.
Storefront Behaviour
Once enabled, Typeahead Search works automatically in the Storefront search bar.
How It Works
- A customer starts typing in the Storefront search field.
- Typeahead suggestions appear only after a minimum of 3 characters are entered.
- A dropdown list of suggested results is displayed beneath the search box.
- Suggestions may include product names, product images, and categories, based on store configuration.
Navigation Behaviour
- When a customer clicks on a product name or product image in the typeahead suggestions, the customer is directly redirected to the Product Detail Page (PDP).
- Customers can continue typing or submit the search to view the full search results page.

Notes and Limitations
- Typeahead Search activates only after 3 or more characters are entered.
- Results depend on published catalog data and search indexing.
- Changes to products or categories may require re-indexing before appearing in typeahead suggestions.
- Typeahead Search must be enabled individually for each store.
