Full Text Search API Enhancements
Feature Overview
To improve storefront search experiences and support richer product filtering capabilities, the Full Text Search API has been enhanced with additional product metadata.
Key Features
Category Code in Search Results
- The Full Text Search API now returns the Category Code associated with each product.
- This allows storefront applications to use the returned Category Code as a filter parameter when retrieving category-specific product results.
Swatch Image Support
- The API now returns the swatch image path/URL for each product color variant.
- This enables storefronts to display color swatches directly within search results and product listings without requiring additional API calls.
New Hide from PLP Attribute for Enhanced Product Visibility Control
Feature Overview
The new Hide from PLP product visibility attribute provides administrators with greater control over product merchandising and storefront visibility. When enabled, products are excluded from browse and discovery experiences such as Product Listing Pages (PLPs), category pages, brand pages, recommendation carousels, and product comparison results, while remaining accessible through customer account and purchasing workflows.
This enhancement allows organizations to support phased product rollouts, product retirements, contract-based availability, and merchandising strategies without impacting existing customer access to products through saved lists, order history, or transactional workflows.
